Meet Jonny

Jonny has worked in the IT industry for nearly 20 years and brings a wealth of technical expertise to The Men's Group. As the group's tech lead, he’s responsible for building and maintaining all things digital — from automating activities in Discord to syncing events across the website, Facebook, Instagram, and the group calendar.

Driven by a love for creative problem-solving, Jonny enjoys finding clever solutions when existing tools fall short. His approach is: if it doesn’t exist, build it.

His hobbies include:

Jonny’s programming skills are a perfect fit for managing the group’s tech infrastructure, while his drone photography inspires him to venture out on group outings, especially when there's an opportunity to capture breathtaking views from above.

Personality-wise, he’s a bit shy with new people but has a sharp wit and a taste for slightly inappropriate humour. His primary committee role involves organising some of the group’s recurring events — like monthly club-bar socials — while ensuring the technical systems behind the scenes run smoothly.

Meet Andy

I'm originally from rural County Down but now live in Belfast and I'm one of the founding members of The Men's Group. I have a particular interest in men's mental health and I'm also the group's sexual health advocate.

In my private life, I enjoy:

I have a partner, an adult son, and a good group of friends who like to keep me humble.

I have been involved with lobbying various government departments and agencies over the years as a cross-community worker. Over the past 30+ years, I’ve held a number of professional and voluntary positions, bringing strong management skills and experience to The Men's Group. It's been a great privilege to have served as Vice Chairperson for the past two years.

As a cancer survivor, I have a special interest in supporting those who require additional help and support in various life situations. My DMs are always open for any questions.

Meet Kris

I’ve spent over two decades actively contributing to the LGBT+ community. As a male (who just so happens to be attracted to other males), I have lived my life alongside the weight of stigma, risk, and repression.

Connecting with others who share these lived experiences became essential. I joined a social group in 2007 and found many others who understand these challenges — not only for support but for building something greater. I recognised the power of community and committed myself to creating spaces where support is freely and openly available.

I became more active over the years and started my first volunteer role as Social Media Manager and Rep for NIPSA’s LGBT+ Committee in 2012. Since then, I’ve grown into a leadership voice in the community. I now also serve on the NICS LGBT+ Committee, representing thousands of public sector employees across Northern Ireland.

I'm proud to be a founding member and committee member of The Men's Group — the only safe space in Northern Ireland dedicated to Gay, Bi, and Trans men — and remain active in several other grassroots organisations. In recent years, I’ve been honoured to be recognised as a trusted community leader, entrusted with keys to Belfast’s LGBT Centre, where I host regular events including a monthly board games night.

More than 20 years on, my commitment remains strong. My drive comes from striving towards a more inclusive society and helping shape working and social spaces where future generations never have to feel as so many of us have felt.
